Arizona Golf Vacations: Discount Packages, Resorts, Courses And Tee Times

Arizona golf vacations are a necessity for anyone with even a passing interest in the game. The Phoenix/Scottsdale area consistently ranks as one of the best places in the world to play golf, and it is not difficult to see why. Courses with varying degrees of difficulty and exclusivity populate the region, and the stunning desert scenery provides the perfect accompaniment for Arizona golf vacations.

Arizona golf vacations have become so popular that the state is brimming with places to play. Golf has become an integral part of the state's tourism economy, with attractive winter temperatures making it a year-round destination. Golf has fueled a significant portion of the real estate development in the region, and the industry creates roughly 17,000 jobs for the state.

Scottsdale has become a top destination for Arizona golf vacations; it is particularly famous for its luxury accommodations. Some courses cost as much as $200 for a round of golf, and the resorts in the area offer the finest amenities to their customers. The city was dubbed the "Beverly Hills of the Desert" by the New York Times for its large number of five-star resorts. Those preferring world-class luxury in their Arizona golf vacations would be well advised to take advantage of the niche that Scottsdale has carved for itself.

Arizona golf vacations do not have to be pricey, though. The city of Phoenix has some of the best municipal golf courses in the entire country, with green fees typically falling between $4 and $35. Discounts are available from more prestigious courses as well; with so much of the business relying on tourism, rates are always shifting. Customers willing to shop for Arizona golf vacation deals can usually save quite a bit of money. Certain services also exist to find cheaper rates for consumers.

One such service, Stand-by Golf, sells canceled tee times at reduced rates, often around 30 percent cheaper. There is not much advance notice with this option - 24 hours notice is all one gets - but it can be a handy way to sample a number of courses in the area. Rates also take a steep decline in the summer months. The heat is certainly intense in the summer, but plenty of people still take Arizona golf vacations in these months. A good hat, good sunscreen and plenty of water will help golfers comfortably beat the heat.

Another option for saving money on Arizona golf vacations are package options. Discount golf packages have been popular for a long time; with so many incidental costs going into typical Arizona golf vacations, it is not only often cheaper, but also easier to purchase everything in a package deal. Some only deal with the costs of golf resorts; others include transportation costs as well. Consumers are not limited in their options, and should be able to customize any kind of package they like. Travel agencies will have detailed information on specific golf courses and resorts, and numerous options for where to stay and where to play. Some of the agencies will even assist with tee times. Whether wanting to hit a number of courses or stick with just one, a package will be available.

Arizona golf vacations are not confined to the Phoenix/Scottsdale area, either. Smaller places such as Sedona and Yuma offer a number of golf resorts, with discount golf packages for Arizona golf vacations just as easy to find. Sedona is not as famous for its courses, but the city offers a quieter destination that is closer to nature for Arizona golf vacations. Sedona also has the advantage of being usually 15-20 degrees cooler than Phoenix. Arizona golf vacations are available throughout the state, and can be as luxurious or as spartan as one wishes.
